2013 Tour Bouscassé Madiran
Tour BouscasseThe appellations of Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bihl co-exist in the alluvial foothills of the Pyrenees and are located 160 kms almost directly south of Bordeaux. Wines from Madiran combine the structure of Bordeaux with the fruit intensity of the Rhône and when they’re made by a master (in this case Alain Brumont, the undisputed king of Madiran and owner/winemaker at Tour Bouscassé) they can live for decades.
The fruit density in the Tour Bouscassé 2012 is profound with notes of damson, blueberry, fig, and licorice all jostling in the glass, but the palate is where its hallmark is stamped with full body and tannin structure flooding the palate and promising a long cellar life.
Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tannat
